Tuesday Sept 21 and Thursday Sept 23 Rice Krispies Treats! & Field Trip Thursday Reminder

Attendance.

Reminder - Field Trip Thursday Sept 23 2021! Meet right after lunch at the bus stop - start of block A - for pick up. You will miss Block A Thursday (afternoon is A/E that day). Salmon Walk & Interpretive Indigenous Lessons. 

Today!

Review of kitchen safety and outer wear protocol. 

1. Tie hair back, no loose clothing, wear an apron. 

2. Wash Hands!  

3. Head Chef's only at the stove.

4. Cook on low. 

5. When cooking turn hood fans on - low to med. 

6. No licking kitchen items! EVER!!!!!

Review of list of roles and responsibilities for each cooking group. 


Group Roles - Head Chef, Prep Cooks x 2, Recipe Manager/Dishwasher

Head Chef - Coordinates, Cooks, E.g. mixes all prepped ingredients & uses the stove, cleans all surfaces post cook, assists with putting dry dishes away.
Prep Cooks - Organizes and places materials out prepped and ready for the Head Chef, and assists with drying dishes at the end of the lab and putting away the dishes. 
Recipe Manager/Dishwasher - reviews paperwork day of lab with group (recipe review) and ensures the recipe is followed by all group members. Washes dishes. 

*Review of location of aprons. 

*Review of location of supplies & product.

Reminders: Once Done! 

Head Chef - Pls request a sticky note from Ms. H - I will place the name of your group on your pan to place in the fridge. Set for 10 min before cutting. Murdoch, Jenn or I will retrieve items from the fridge.

Dishwashers - pls ensure you utilize the two sink cleaning method. I or Jenn will place your bleach in your 'dip sink.' Place dishes on rack (get from under your sink) then Prep Cooks - please dry your dishes. 

*Leave water in the sinks re: cleaning cutting boards and knives. Remember safety protocol when washing knives! NEVER throw the knife in the sink instead lay the knife facing out by the sink safely. Dishwasher to wash knife with blade away from them outside of the sink. Dip & Rinse. 

Head Chef - can assist with drying and putting away dishes upon completion. 

Final steps - once all dishes are clean and put away, please spray your counters with per diem as well as your desks. 

Please place your dirty aprons in the dirty apron hamper (box at the front of the room).

Sit quietly with your group at the end.
