Oct 29 2021 Cookie Bake and Decorate

Keep same head chef, prep cook and dishwasher positions as last day.   We will be baking and decorating our cookies!!!  Vegan Sugar Cookie Recipe Cooking Day! Review highlighted sections. 350 Degrees For 8-10 min! WATCH YOUR COOKIES!!!!  Materials -  Your product - Dough and Icing Cooling Tray Spatula 

Oct 28 2021 Cookie Prep!!!

Attendance!  Reminders: Select Head Chef, 2 Prep Cooks, Dishwasher/Recipe Manager. Names and groups on the board - written by Head Chefs. Note: Materials - you will need - hand mixer, spatula, large bowl, parchment paper, large cookie tray, rolling pin, cookie cutters (select max of 4 shapes - head chef to select from teacher station), small bowls and spoons (for mixing icing sugar) x 4.  We will be completing our cookie prep - e.g. prepping dough, rolling out and cutting out and placement on trays with parchment paper!  Prep of icing - MAX 4 colours pls. Bowls to be provided by teacher at the teacher station.  Once your cookie prep and icing are finished please call teacher rep over to label your product.  Re: Icing - 4 groups will get silicone trays. 2 groups will get mini bread tins x 4.  Vegan Sugar Cookie Recipe

Oct 19 2021 Tea Making and Lab Reflection

Attendance. Ms. Moore Tea Harvest Review - and Tea Making In Class. Select New Roles at your stations. Head Chef Prep Cooks x 2 Dishwasher  Tasks: Boil full kettle on your stove. Pour hot water over tea through the strainer provided. (container is the silver tea pot).  Steep for 15 min. While tea is steeping - prep cooks - please set your table up for tea.  Including - plate of cookies, small plates, mugs (let Murdoch know if you need more for your station). Pour tea and enjoy :)  15 min prior to the end of class. Clean up!!!  Lab Reflection Completion - next class on Thursday :)

Oct 13 2021 Wednesday Laptops - Cart 1 - TTOC please send Jenn or Murdoch to obtain the laptop cart from the library.  Hand laptops out. Student Tasks: To review of Assignments in Teams assigned to date. Assign 1-4 in Teams.  Students - 30-40 min - Time for completion of ANY missed assignments. Even if you were not here for a lab or assignment you do still need to finish ALL assignments.  Reminder: Note re: our Quizzes. No speaking or asking a friend for help during quizzes or tests. Attendance.  Today! Oct 5 2021 Review of kitchen safety and outer wear protocol.  1.  Tie hair back, no loose clothing, wear an apron.  2. Wash Hands!   3. Head Chef's only at the stove. Which we will not need today. 4. Ovens - will not use today! 5. No licking kitchen items!  EVER!!!!!  Recipe Apple Crisp Review -  Each group will have a paper copy. Picture of Finished Product Note: We will do final stage - baking - tomorrow :) Reminder: 20 Q Quiz tomorrow - Kitchen Safety, Protocols, Salmon Field Trip Questions.  Review of list of roles and responsibilities for each cooking group.  Group Roles  - Head Chef, Prep Cooks x 2, Recipe Manager/Dishwasher Head Chef  - Coordinates, Cooks, E.g. mixes all prepped ingredients & uses the stove, cleans all surfaces post cook, assists with putting dry dishes away. Attendance. Quiz. Moved to Wednesday - Safety Basics, Measuring, a few Salmon Questions :) Total 20 MC. Update on Cooking Lab for Next Week :) Recovery - Apple Crisp Prep :) Tuesday - Baking on Wednesday. Using the diagram, as attached, with your group set 2 table settings at your lab station.  Once complete take a picture of one of your completed settings and upload below.
